This project entailed providing furnishings and finish selections for client’s existing condo. The main objective was to rework the furniture layout of two seating areas to increase functionality and create a better flow between them.
The solution resulted in the furniture being placed on 45 degree angels, adding interest to a large rectangular space. The two seating areas provided, one area for TV viewing and with the second more for conversation when entertaining. Overall, continuity was provided thru the color scheme connecting both the interior and the exterior balcony furnishings.
With functionality in mind, two multi-tiered round cocktail tables were selected for the curved sectional. By overlapping the cocktail tables they provided ample access from any seat at the sectional.
The scope of work consisted of, providing furniture layouts and new furniture selections. Additional updates consisted of replacing the carpet in the living area with wool carpet and the carpet under dining table was replaced with tile. Wool carpet specifically was selected for its ability to neutralize cigarette smoke. Given the client’s extensive collection of eclectic art and accessories it was easy to finish out the space.
A large spanse of windows that faced west, overlooked an exterior balcony with a view of the historic Crossroads district from the fifth floor. New furnishings for the balcony included a lounge area and seating around a fire pit.
