The west stairwell leads from the living spaces to a more private retreat upstairs. The finish selections for the space were chosen in order to allow emphasis to be placed on the rich architectural elements. The stunning crystal and platinum chandelier continues the graceful elegance of the deep moldings through-out, banister rail and turned spindles of the staircase.
The walls are finished in a faux finish of platinum metallic foils and textures layered over khaki paint. While the accent wall along the base of the staircase features bronze metallic shades and damask stencil motifs with embedded glass beads catching the light from the wall sconce on the opposite wall.
The existing honey caramel wood tones of the floor and banister railing were used as the basis for the color scheme, contrasted with accents of brilliant Mediterranean blue. The solution is a contrast of textures layered with the play of neutrals against each other.
Original art adds subject matter to the space. All elements come together creating a space worthy of being called a home; continuing the pride of one of Kansas City’s most prestigious areas to live in.
